S-5! COLORGARDTM SPECIFICATIONS
S-5! COLORGARD Snow Guards to be furnished by LMCurbs, 609 Fisher Road (P.O. Box 5299), Longview, Texas 75604 (75608-5299), 1-903-297-2148, 1-800-284-1412, Fax # 903-759-3598.
Furnish and install where indicated on plans COLORGARD assembly for snow retention as follows: S-5-UHD clamps are to be spaced at [ every; every second ] panel seam, within 8"-12" from the roof panel eave edge. Clamps should be on or as near as possible to the hold down clip location WITHOUT INTERFERING WITH THE ABILITY OF THE ROOF TO FLOAT. All S-5-UHD clamps are to be installed true-to-line. Stainless steel fasteners are to be tightened using a tool with a rating of 115 inch-pounds. This tension shall be periodically verified during installation. In no event shall the clamp spacing exceed 42 inches.
The COLORGARD is to be furnished and installed on each S-5-UHD clamp with 3/8" x 3/4" stainless steel bolt and washer furnished by manufacturer. The COLORGARD is pre punched on 4" centers. If the panel is other than a 12", 16", 20", 24", or 36" width, field drilling of the COLORGARD will be required. Adjacent sections of COLORGARD are to be joined using a splice plate provided by manufacturer.
The color strip, which is 2 1/16" wide x 8' long, that is inserted into the COLORGARD System [ will be; will not be ] furnished with the COLORGARD System. The color strip is not provided as part of the COLORGARD System; it is the user's responsibility to furnish this material. In some cases the color strip is furnished at extra cost with the COLORGARD; in which case, the manufacturer is not responsible for an exact color match. Colors will vary from job lot to job lot in the manufacturing process.
5" S-5 SNOCLIPS shall be used on panels with the rib heights exceeding two inches. 2 1/2" SNOCLIPS shall be on panels with the rib heights two inches or less. SNOCLIPS [ 5" ; 2 1/2" ] shall be furnished [ one; two; three ] per panel, evenly spaced, and installed to the upslope of the COLORGARD.
Finish: The S-5-UHD clamps and the SNOCLIPS are to be furnished in tumbled mill finish. The COLORGARD bar is to be furnished in mill finish.
Suitability of any S-5! assembly for local area and job conditions is the responsibility of the designer or architect/engineer. Roof panels must be adequately attached to structure or substrate. All loads incurred by S-5! assembly will be transferred to the panels.
