3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Basic Use: FIBERWEB 200 is an inert, lightweight, flexible, reinforced polyester membrane thru-wall flashing. It is impervious to moisture penetration; not affected by caustic alkalis found in concrete and mortar mixes, Is easily installed and has guaranteed longevity of 100 years

Limitations: FIBERWEB 200 cannot/should not be used as an exposed flashing.

Composition and Materials: FIBERWEB 200 is a combination of , black polyester film reinforced with fiberglass scrim and vinyl film; average finished thickness is 8 mils.

The adhesive used in the lamination process is virtually indestructible resulting in extra high resistance to delamination

Sizes: FIBERWEB 200 is available in widths of 12", 16", 18" 20", 24", 36", and 48". Custom sizes over 48" are available with a 4-6 week lead time. Standard length is 300 lineal feet per roll.

Tape: FIBERWEB Tape is the same polyester film as in the flashing;

When used to repair a puncture will restore the integrity of the flashing to its physical properties 2" x 108 lineal feet per roll

4. TECHNICAL DATA
"Murat" polyester film is made from polyethylene terephthalate, the polymer formed by the condensation reaction of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. Its unusual balance of properties enables it to serve specific engineering functions as a physical barrier in protective coatings, as a thermal barrier, as a structural barrier and as an electrical barrier.

"Mylar" contains no plasticizers and does not become brittle with age at its normal operating conditions

Corrosion Resistance: Freshly prepared concrete specimens were prepared employing a mixture of Portland cement, sand, water, aggregate and admixtures. A strip of FIBERWEB sheeting was placed between the freshly prepared specimens and already existing, plain and air entrained concrete slabs. This combination remained at ambient temperature for a pen ad of 14 days and 2 8 days and then evaluated for adverse effects.

5. INSTALLATION:

FIBERWEB is designed to be a protective membrane flashing against surfaces of structural steel beams, steel lintels and other structural steel elements buried in masonry that needs protection from corrosion caused by penetrating moisture.

THRU-WALL Flashing: Starting 1/2" from face, bend flashing to form drip. Extend through veneer and turn up a minimum of 8".

For C.M.U. backup wall, bed flashing in the mortar joint closest to cavity and seal with a mastic. For wood, steel stud or framed back-up, seal into sheathing. Lap flashings around corners and at end joints a minimum of 6 inches and seal with an approved mastic.

CONCEALED Flashing: Install at windows and doors as specified in spec plans using a minimum of 6 inch strips of flashing at jambs and extending 4" above the head. At head, apply a 6" inch strip of flashing over jamb flashings. At sills, flash as for thru-wall installation instructions. Seal all laps with an approved mastic.

OUTSIDE CORNERS (Mitres- left to right)
Wrap flashing around the comer, and starting 1/8" from the right side of the comer, cut flashing at crease to end of flashing. Secure Flashing into wall. Wrap the adjoining flashing from right of wall back around the flashing making the same incision as above and lap 6" over the left side.

Apply FIBERWEB tape at all laps and cut areas and then a coating of an approved mastic to ensure a long term seal.

INSIDE CORNERS (Mitres)
Wrap flashing around into comer. Starting 1/8" from innermost point of comer, make an incision in the flashing that extends to the outer edge. Wrap the left side of the incision back over the right up to the bend and press a piece of the FIBERWEB tape over the entire length of the lap, ensuring that the innermost comer is sealed. Apply an approved mastic over the entire taped area to ensure a long term seal.

END DAMS: Where masonry meets another wall system, form an end dam by turning flashing up at least 6 ". Apply an approved mastic over the entire taped area and seal to end masonry units.
